Honored samurai, ruthless ronin, wayward vagabonds, shadowy ninja and helpless villagers... welcome.
Opening Volley
The end of the year approaching fast and while there will be at least two more episodes for the year, there might not be any after until about January 7th or 8th. I’m positive very few people will be reading anyway.
Main Event
Several weeks back, the Hosts in the Shell podcast had me on for an hour-long discussion of Japanese cyberpunk, the origins of which I believe are really body horror.
Despite my radio and TV experience, I was really nervous. But Matt and Jon made me feel super welcome, and I believe a great time was had by all. A brief description of the episode:
It's a bit late for Halloween, but that didn't stop the boys getting dark and disturbing in this episode about CYBERPUNK BODY HORROR!! Brilliant writer, Japanophile, livewire and cyberpunk encyclopedia Brent Millis joins the show to discuss classics like Tetsuo: The Iron Man and various other media where people get unwanted bits grafted on...
Crazily enough, since it dropped (last week), it has been voted a top episode pick by the Goodpods people — A global community of podcast lovers. The “Goodreads for podcasts.”
A very humbling experience, indeed. Without further ado, sink your teeth into gritty, dank, inescapable worlds of the Japanese psyche.
We never meet without parting
Next issue... Your guess is as good as mine.
Until then!

Wonderful interview/appearance, Brent. It was great to hear your voice again and speak about what you've been doing the past many many years. Bravo!
