It’s not often one gets to toot their own horn, so I’m going to take this opportunity to do just that. It’s not something I do often. Frankly, it’s embarrassing. Okay, okay, I hear you all snickering. But seriously, I believe in being as humble as possible. Silly, self-deprecating, wild and boorish at times, yes, but humble none the less. Okay, enough of that.

The beauty of this article though is that it isn’t completely about me. Fellow Vocal (where I publish most of my work) author and interviewer, Caroline Jane (co-founder of several popular Vocal authors’ groups), was interested in how I got started with Vocal. As some of you may remember, that’s a journey that begins nearly a decade ago and involves cyborgs, Japanese penis shrines and Penthouse publisher Bob Guccione (I SWEAR!).
