Honored samurai, ruthless ronin, wayward vagabonds, shadowy ninja and helpless villagers... welcome.
Opening Volley
Last week was a rest week and this week, I got my fourth vax shot. (It went down well, absolutely ZERO after effects.) I wasn’t planning on posting anything, but then I remembered a friend has a Kickstarter (and time is of the essence) — in other words, last week was me, me, me, so back to shoutouts and fun while I continue to write (yes, work on the novel is progressing well).
Main Event
Alicia Carter & Robot is "an action-comedy [comic book] series that follows the space adventures of a crafty thief and her robot sidekick!" by indies publisher Regolith Comics.
Written by Tristan Vick (Daughter of Wolves, Animal Woman, Speed of Light) with dynamic art by Chris Awayan along with colors by Mirza Wirawan (X-Force Killshot / Marvel), the first issue kicked off last year and knocked the ball out of the park -- great action, guffaw comedy, high adventure -- I dug it. Kickstarter for issue two is up, it reached funding in under a day and it has already broken records of the previous issue one, all the stretch goals have been reached (with EASE), there are MULTIPLE cover options (some of which are highly NSFW) and its fan base is GROWING. Just $5 USD for digital format (CBR and PDF -- thank you for CBR, Mr. Vick!) of issue one, and $10 USD gets you issues one AND two -- very friendly tier levels in my opinion. Of course, print versions are available.
18 days left on the Kickstarter, so while there’s still time, don’t delay in showing your support.
We never meet without parting
Next issue... Blade Runner, the White Dragon Cut 5.
Until then!
Made in DNA
It’s great to see the comics corner of Kickstarter sustain itself. The site felt like a flash in the pan ten years ago, and cool books like this are still born there today.
