The history of Japan and its feudal structure is fascinating. The films of Akiro Kurosawa offer a view of the old world though always somewhat subdued in my view. Many years ago, I went to an exhibition called ‘Samurai’. The accompanying info was quite extensive. It touched on many historic periods.
Japanese history is long, involved, and very difficult to follow, even for the Japanese. Who can remember 2000-plus years and all the figures? Sounds like a great exhibition. Thanks for the comment.
Fascinating history. Mind blowing how rigid the social lines are in Japan, going back a ways. Interesting to see how he went about forming his own mini empire by giving titles to his relatives. It's a game thrones!
Yes, yes, and yes again, and it still is very rigid in many (and I hate to say it, but silly, little, sometimes petty) ways. Most definitely. Japanese society is very much about clout, entitlement, and nepotism. Then again, what society isn't?

True, though in the case of Japan is like a fetishistic attachment to stratifying people.
