I remember all the small earthquakes in my area, but for the most part we were far from the epicenter. I hope you are safe and there are no further quakes anytime soon.
Holy cow earthquakes and covid? Hang in there! I had covid for the first time on thanksgiving and it kicked my ass! Hang in there and keep up the good work!
Yeah, hell of a double slap. The earthquake was largely a huge scare for us as we suffered little more than a broken picture frame. There are obviously folks who have it a lot worse. That said, thanks for the encouragement. Covid was something else, wasn't it?
Looking forward to diving into more dispatches from Chuck U. Farley. ;)
Many here are remembering the same thing. Yes, we live on the Japan Sea side. The coast is a couple of kms at best. Closer than that is the Sekine River which flows out into the ocean and would be a very real path for tsunami and flooding.
I hope that earthquake isn't a portent of the year to come.
My wife and I got hit with Covid at the beginning of December, and neither of us is over it. She ran a fever all New Year weekend. Hope we're all feeling better soon.
Thanks very much for your thoughts. The people of the Noto Pennisula can use them. The earthquake may be over, but the tragedy and hard times are just beginning.
Hope your feeling better after covid. Glad u werent harmed in the earthquake
Thanks. It kind of took the wind from my sails for all of January, but I'm back on my feet. Proper update coming soon.

Thx. We are safe. aftershocks calmed. Now it's the people of Noto who need our attn.
Is the temple you were about to visit damaged?
Can you email me at theculturalfuturist@gmail.com? I have something I’d like to ask you.
Glad to hear you're safe and better now. here's to a quake-free 2024!

Remember watching the tsunamis in 2011. Do you live near the coast?

I'm sorry you got covid. It's awful. But I'm glad it's in the past and you're back to writing and everything.
A shaky end to the year. May great things be brought in this new year 🎊
Yes, hooing this is just 2024's way of getting the BS out of the way quickly. But what a horrific start.
I hope that earthquake isn't a portent of the year to come.

Agreed. Just awful.
So sorry to hear that. It just keeps kicking you. Hope you and your wife are better soon.
Well, now that it's January at least we have an excuse to stay home!
Fukit, everyone stay home!
I've always wondered what it felt like to be on an island that's undergoing plate tectonics.
It must have been somewhat wild.
It's very unreal, especially when it keeps going. It would be "fun" if it weren't so deadly
Thoughts and prayers to you and all of Japan. Interested to read about the earthquake experience you had. Get well soon, and get writing!

Daimyo's Decoy sounds like my type of party and I'm glad you're safe.
Oh, I think you will most definitely enjoy it, Grant. If you don't, I might as well put down my pen.
I'm really looking forward to Daimyo's Decoy, the premise sounds great. But keep yourself safe first, OK? Quakes are no joke.
Thank you, and yes, of course. Always safety first. Everything's backed up on the "cloud," so I can pull it even if I have to leave it.
Indeed, quakes are no joke at all!
Prayers for you, my friend, and for Japan and the safety of all 💖
Appreciated. Let's hope that, while any toll is one too great, it is not too high.
